Duration : The training takes place over 3 days (21 hours) Learning Objectives/Skills Targeted : - Know your UAV and understand its environment - To master the piloting of a professional UAV in both automatic and manual mode. - To know and master the different safety rules when flying in the different scenarios (Urban - Extra Urban) Course of the training : DAY 1 CURRENT REGULATIONS AND SAFETY Location: DEMA DRONE ACADEMY Training Centre (Geneva) Trainer: Dominique Reginensi, Pilot Trainer. Trainee : Between 2 and 5 trainees per session Pedagogical and technical means : 86-inch touch screen for distribution and study of the various documents: - Text of law and order - UAV Technical Manual - Demonstration video and tutorial - DJI GO4 application Drone DJI Phantom 4 Pro for precise study of the operation of a multi-rotor UAV. Program : A) Specificities of remotely piloted aircraft. An aircraft, why does it fly? Rapid approach to the various aerodynamic forces: lift, drag, inertia. What's a drone? Technical study of a professional drone, its operation, its capabilities, its limits. Study of piloting tools: GPS, flight plan, POI. Detailed study of the DJI GO4 flight software. B) Safety and human factors How well prepared he was for his flight: Study of the phases of preparation of a flight according to its scenario and the steps to be taken beforehand: Quick approach to the use of the AIP DRONE software. Specific study of a flight in a CTR zone (controlled airspace) and learning how to set up an air protocol. Specific study of a flight in an urban area and implementation of safety rules to protect goods and people. How to be well prepared for your flight: Reminder of basic rules to fly safely: - Sleep management - Alcohol and narcotics - Management of problems that may affect the ability of the remote pilot (illness, personal problems, etc.) Management of the public and curious during the flights. Management of the principals during the flights. DAYS 2 and 3 FLIGHT PLANNING AND EXECUTION Location: DEMA DRONE ACADEMY Training Centre (Geneva) Secure flight zone (Choulex - Geneva) Trainer: Dominique Reginensi, Pilot Trainer. Trainee : Between 2 and 4 trainees per session. Pedagogical and technical means: Drone DJI Phantom 4 Pro Additional battery (for analysis and exercise) Concerted case study for operational approach. Program : A) Flight preparation (environment and safety) Implementation of safety rules and protocols prepared upstream according to the flight scenario: Management of its environment: - Fauna and Flora - Topography - Infrastructure - Nearby third parties - Weather B) Aircraft preparation and initialization Study of the pre-flight inspection and control phases of the aircraft: - Checking mechanical condition (propellers, engine mount, payload mount) - Checking the batteries - Engine cut-off test - Image return test - Testing GPS reception. Study of the pre-flight initialization phases of the aircraft: - IMU calibration - Calibration Compass - Nacelle calibration C) Take-off phase Learning the aircraft take-off phases : - Take-off in manual mode - Take-off in automatic mode (D) Operation of the aircraft Learning to fly an aircraft : Evolution at 10 meters, 50 meters and 100 meters. Various training exercises in flight. - Straight line flight (forward / backward) - Axis change - Axis change (Rolling) - Altitude change - Flight in Eight - Dual Control Flight (Pilot + Framer) Learning of pilot aids and various automatic flights : - Flight Plan - POI (Point of Interest) - Active Track - Lock Race E) Landing Learning the landing phases of an aircraft : - Landing in manual mode - Landing in automatic mode (F) Potential in-flight problems and appropriate procedures Review of potential problems that may occur in flight. Study of appropriate procedures in the event of a problem: - Loss of GPS signal - Low battery - Aircraft in the evolution zone - Miscellaneous technical problem Detailed study of the "FAILSAFE" function return and automatic landing of the aircraft. Device for monitoring and evaluation of training results: The trainee will have to carry out a noted simulation under the control of the trainer to validate his training. It will consist in setting up and executing a flight in compliance with the various rules of the air and the legislation in force. The instructor will be able to simulate an emergency situation at any time to test his trainee.
